Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Folio ("the app", "we", "us") is a receipt scanning and organizing app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it lives. If anything here is unclear, contact us at contact@revisit.gallery.

2. Data we do not collect

Folio does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Your receipts, receipt images, or any text extracted from them
• Your name, email address, or any account information (there are no accounts)
• Your location
• Usage analytics, crash logs tied to you, or behavioral data
• Advertising identifiers (no IDFA, no ad networks, no tracking SDKs)

3. What stays on your device

Everything you create in Folio is stored locally in the app's private storage on your iPhone:

• Receipt photos you capture or import
• Extracted details: merchant, amount, date, currency, category, and notes
• Return deadlines, warranty flags, and reminders
• Your settings, such as your first name used for the in-app greeting and custom categories

None of this leaves your phone. We have no server, so we could not see it even if we wanted to.

4. On-device receipt reading

When Folio reads a receipt, the text recognition runs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Your receipt images and their contents are never uploaded to a cloud service for processing.

5. Camera, photos, and notifications

• Camera — used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Captures are stored locally.
• Photo library — used only when you choose to import an existing receipt photo.
• Notifications — return-deadline reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Enabling them is optional.

Each permission is requested only when you use the related feature, and you can revoke any of them at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Folio Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Payment is processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. To validate your purchase and unlock Premium across reinstalls, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, as a service provider. RevenueCat processes purchase and entitlement data (such as an anonymous app-generated identifier and your transaction status) solely to operate the subscription. This data is not used to track you across apps and never includes your receipts or any content you create in Folio. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it:

• Delete any receipt in the app and its image is removed immediately.
• Delete the app and all of your Folio data is permanently removed from your device.

We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. Note that this also means we cannot recover your data for you — if you delete the app, your receipts are gone unless they are included in your own device backup.

8. Children's privacy

Folio is rated 4+ and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is intended for general audiences managing their own purchases.

9. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant rights over personal data that a company holds about you. Folio holds none, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or erase. Everything is already in your hands, on your device. If you have questions about these rights, contact us and we will help.

10. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Folio handles data, we will update this policy, change the effective date above, and, for material changes, let you know in the app before they take effect.
